Oscar's Downtown Palm Springs

Decent show but there are definitely better drag shows in town, though this one is probably the most expensive. Some of the Drag queens were great. But some.. well drag queens in the desert do this thing we've never seen at shows in other cities. They just come out into the audience and collect money from everyone, without doing an actual performance. Some never even step onto the stage, they just get their money, barely lip syncing, and then leave. What?! Also all the other reviews about the slow service, construction ruining the atmosphere, etc., are true. Still a fun experience over all.. But if you want a better show, better atmosphere, better service, and better prices, go to Toucans instead.

From the moment you meet him, you'll instantly feel his infectious energy and genuine warmth. First things first, a big round of applause to Dan for his unwavering dedication to our community. He works tirelessly to provide us with the most fun and entertaining experiences at Oscar's. Whether it's a night of dancing, live music, or their famous tea dance on Sundays, you can always count on Oscar's to bring the party to life! Speaking of the tea dance, it's simply legendary. If you haven't been to Oscar's on a Sunday, you're missing out on a fabulous time. But let's not forget the essence of Oscar's - it's a place where good times and great friends come together. And to Dan, thank you for being the heart and soul of Oscar's. Your passion for creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere shines through, and we couldn't ask for a better party maestro. Keep spreading the joy and bringing smiles to our faces!

Four of us went to see a 70’s cover band play in November and all seating was outside and it was a bit chilly, but they had space heaters. Last time I went it was in June and it was so hot you could barely breathe, so be prepared. Food ordered was a hamburger with French fries and the ultimate nachos. Drinks were a little 💰around $12 each. The band was $15 cover each and the service was good. Place shuts down early around 10pm weekly. Can never go wrong visiting Oscar’s.

UPDATE FROM MANAGEMENT’s RESPONSE BASED ON REVIEW BELOW: So, just like the review before mine a few months ago, I get a condescending response from management who rather than take responsibility for their poor performance, blames the customer for asking for something not on the menu which actually was on their main menu. Here are the instructions on the ticket I was told I did not follow: $25 Food/Drink Minimum for this event As you can see, there is no mention of a special menu only that I must spend $25 for food/drink. Also, the menu on the table did not say special menu or only menu available and the waiter did not say anything, as well. So, Mr. Manager or Owner, the instructions were followed and based on your response, you should either be fired for the way you respond to your customers by the owner or you should be boycotted for your response as the owner. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Went to see Varla Jean Merman tonight. She was fantastic! The venue, not so much. I was told about a $25 cover charge. Since we don’t drink alcohol and were not hungry, we were told we would be charged anyway. The waiter was going to talk to the manager about this. Nothing happened. I looked at their menu and decided to order the pasta bolognese to go and would have it tomorrow for lunch. Basically, I paid $27 for a box of pasta with bolognese. Yes, a box like the one you put fried chicken in. I guess they don’t have a plastic or even a tin container to put the meal in. Wow! What moron does this? I left it on the table. They probably put it back in the pot. I won't go there again.
